The buyer isn't collecting their Vinted parcel: what should I do?

On Vinted, a parcel the buyer doesn't collect from the pick-up point in time is sent back to you: Vinted then cancels the order and refunds the buyer. How long the parcel is kept depends on the carrier, sometimes only 2 days, so message the buyer as soon as it arrives. Bleam does it for you, with a reminder that goes out on its own once the parcel has been waiting for 24 hours.

In detail

What happens, step by step

  1. The parcel reaches the pick-up point. The carrier sends the buyer a pick-up code, to their phone and by email, usually with the deadline to collect it.
  2. The storage period starts. It varies from one carrier to another, and Vinted warns that some only keep a parcel for 2 days.
  3. After that, the parcel comes back to you. The order is cancelled and the buyer refunded: you get nothing for this sale, but the item comes back and you can list it again.

Bleam's pickup point reminder

Turn on the "Pickup point reminder" on the After-sales page of your Bleam space. When the parcel has been waiting for 24 hours without being collected, Bleam messages the buyer, by default: "Hello, your parcel is waiting for you at the pickup point! Remember to pick it up soon :)". With a carrier that keeps parcels for 2 days, the buyer still has a full day to collect it.

The reminder goes out only once per sale, never for a home delivery, and never during a dispute or a return. You can rewrite the text, and the reminder runs with your computer off on Bleam Cloud, like the rest of the after-sale: a thank-you once paid, a 5-star review and a review nudge.
