You buy to resell on Vinted and you're not registered yet? Here's the exact 2026 process: INPI one-stop shop, APE code, SIRET, URSSAF. 20 minutes online, free, no headache.

This guide is for people who buy to resell on Vinted and want to get compliant. If you just sell personal clothes you no longer wear, this doesn't concern you — you're exempt under the personal goods regime.
You buy to resell on Vinted? You must register as auto-entrepreneur. Here's what to remember:
Free creation, 20 minutes online. After that, you enter the real time-consuming part: invoices and accounting. That's where Vinteer, our recommended partner, becomes essential — with code BLEAM you get -10% for life.
If you buy items to resell at a profit on Vinted (thrift stores, clearance, marketplaces, dropshipping), you are legally a professional seller. It doesn't matter if you do 10 or 100 sales per month. The question isn't "should I register", it's "do I register before or after the audit".
Since 2023, the EU DAC7 directive requires Vinted to transmit each year to French tax authorities the list of its sellers and their revenue. Transmission thresholds are low: 30 sales OR €2,000 annual revenue. If you exceed them, your data is already known — and the administration automatically cross-checks with your declarations (or their absence).
What happens if you don't get compliant Retroactive tax reassessment up to 3 years (10 years in case of fraud), 40% surcharge (bad faith) or 80% (characterized fraud), URSSAF back-payment + penalties, and up to €500,000 fine and 5 years imprisonment for repeated tax fraud (Art. 1741 CGI). Registering takes 20 minutes. Getting caught costs thousands.

Since January 2023, all auto-enterprise creations go through the INPI one-stop shop. The old autoentrepreneur.urssaf.fr portal no longer accepts creations. Here's the real process, in order.
Create your account on formalites.entreprises.gouv.fr
This is the official one-stop shop website. Register with your email, create a password, validate your email. Have on hand: scanned ID (both sides), proof of address less than 3 months old, bank details (not mandatory at creation but handy).
Fill out the creation form
You declare a natural person (sole proprietorship), tick "micro-enterprise regime". You choose your APE code (see next section). You indicate your activity address (your home, that's allowed). You choose your social fund: it will be Independent Workers' Social Security via URSSAF automatically.
Choose your tax options
Two critical choices at this stage: your URSSAF declaration frequency (monthly recommended to start, see below) and your liberatory income tax option (1% extra to settle your income tax at the same time — activate if you meet the conditions).
Validate and submit the file
You sign electronically, you validate. The file goes to INSEE (for your SIRET), URSSAF and tax authorities. You receive your SIRET by email within 2 to 4 weeks on average. Sometimes faster, sometimes a bit longer depending on the period.
Total cost of creation Zero. Creating a micro-enterprise is 100% free. If someone offers to "take care of everything" for €150, it's a scam — it's as simple as what we just described.

The APE code (main activity exercised) is assigned by INSEE at creation. For Vinted resale, there are two possible codes depending on your actual activity.
| APE code | Label | Use case |
|---|---|---|
| 4779Z | Retail of used goods in stores | Second-hand resale (thrift, vintage, consignment). The most common code for Vinted resellers. |
| 4791B | Distance selling via specialized catalog | If you sell new items (buy-to-resell new products, brand surplus, clearance). |
Two choices to make at registration time. They directly impact how much you pay and how often.
For a reseller just starting out, monthly declaration is recommended. It smooths URSSAF payments (you pay monthly what you owe) rather than having one big quarterly hit. You can switch at any time from your URSSAF portal. Tip: at high volume, some prefer quarterly to have more cash flow available — but it requires discipline.
Very useful option: instead of paying your income tax separately in May N+1, you settle it directly with your URSSAF contributions (+1% on your revenue for merchandise resale). It's final — no adjustment the following year. Simpler, more predictable, and if you stay under the ceilings it's often advantageous.
Congratulations, you're officially auto-entrepreneur. But the legal part doesn't stop there — that's where the real administrative daily grind begins.
Declare your revenue every month (or quarter)
On autoentrepreneur.urssaf.fr, you enter the total amount Vinted has transferred to your account (not just the listed price — includes shipping VAT). You automatically pay the contributions. Mandatory even for €0 months — a miss = €52 penalty.
Issue a compliant invoice for EACH sale
As soon as you're auto-entrepreneur, each Vinted sale must result in an invoice with 15 mandatory legal mentions, continuously numbered (no gaps), and archived for 10 years. Yes, even for an €8 t-shirt.
Declare your income once a year
If you haven't activated the liberatory payment, you report your annual revenue on form 2042-C-PRO in May. After a 71% flat deduction (for merchandise sales), the rest is included in your taxable income according to your tax bracket.
Pay CFE in December
Business property tax, ~€240 per year (variable by municipality). Exempt the 1st year. Payable online on your impots.gouv.fr portal.
The point that becomes unmanageable fast: invoices At 30 sales per month, that's 360 invoices per year to create manually. At 50, 600. Each with 15 mandatory mentions, numbered without gaps, archived 10 years. Doing it by hand = 3 to 5 hours per month on a spreadsheet, with an error risk that grows with volume. That's THE reason all serious resellers use a dedicated tool.
We recommend Vinteer to all our Bleam reseller users. As soon as you have your SIRET, connect your Vinted account to Vinteer — it imports your sales, generates compliant invoices automatically, and outputs URSSAF exports ready to submit. You save several hours per month and eliminate error risk from the start.
Zero. Creating a micro-enterprise via the INPI one-stop shop is 100% free. Sites that ask €150 or €300 to "take care of everything" just fill out the same form you would. The only mandatory fee after creation is the CFE (~€240/year, exempt the 1st year).
Yes, it's perfectly legal (Art. L1222-5 Labour Code). Just check your employment contract doesn't contain an exclusivity or non-compete clause. Your salary and Vinted revenue add up in your annual tax return — activate the liberatory payment to avoid a year-end tax surprise.
Between 2 and 4 weeks on average. Sometimes 1 week if you get lucky, sometimes 6 if your file needs a supplement. You receive your number by email, and your status is officially active from the creation date indicated in the file (often the 1st of the following month).
Vinted doesn't provide invoices. You must create them yourself with 15 mandatory legal mentions, numbered without gaps, archived 10 years. Our partner Vinteer automates everything: sales import, compliant PDF, numbering, archiving, URSSAF exports. With code BLEAM you get -10% for life.
You exit the micro-enterprise regime after 2 consecutive years above the ceiling. You switch to actual BIC regime with full accounting requirements (journal, annual balance sheet, accountant almost mandatory). It's another world — but you're far from it, focus on the basics first.
No. As long as your revenue stays under €85,000/year, you benefit from the VAT franchise base (Art. 293 B CGI). You don't charge VAT to your buyers and have no VAT declaration to file. You just need to mention "TVA non applicable, art. 293 B du CGI" on your invoices. We cover the next step (switching to standard regime) in a dedicated article.
Creating your auto-enterprise is the admin step. Scaling your activity is the real subject. Bleam automates your sales (favorite messages, AI negotiation, reposts) and Vinteer automates your accounting (invoices, URSSAF). The complete duo for volume resellers.
Both tools are independent — you can use one without the other. The BLEAM code gives you -10% for life on Vinteer.
