The wallet moves to Vinted Pay
Until now, the money from your sales waited in a wallet run by Mangopay. It moves to Vinted Pay UAB, an electronic money institution authorised in Lithuania. If you have a Vinted wallet, you accept two documents: Vinted's terms, then Vinted Pay's. Pro sellers who have a Vinted wallet are not concerned by this second agreement.
By accepting, you authorise Mangopay to transfer your balance, available and pending, to Vinted Pay, along with the data that goes with it: name, address, ID documents, bank details. The move costs you nothing. Vinted Pay's fees page lists only one fee: 1.2% for currency conversion when you use your balance to pay for an item listed in another currency.
If you refuse, your account isn't closed, but you can no longer buy or sell on Vinted. Your balance can still be withdrawn from the old Mangopay wallet until it closes, which will be announced in advance.

The Vinted fee replaces Buyer Protection
It's a new name, nothing more. Vinted's help page says it plainly: it is not a new or additional fee, and the way it is calculated doesn't change. Buyers still pay it at checkout, and there are still no selling fees on Vinted.
For buyers, nothing changes when they use the Buy button: secure payment, order support, and a refund if the item doesn't arrive, arrives damaged or doesn't match its description. Vinted is updating the name step by step, so if you still see "Buyer Protection" somewhere, it's the same fee.

48 hours to prove an item is authentic
When Vinted has strong evidence that a sold item is counterfeit, the seller now has 48 hours to send proof, up from 24 hours before October 5. A receipt, a tag or a certificate will do. Without a reply in time, the sale is cancelled and the buyer is refunded, without returning the item.
An item Vinted judges to be counterfeit is kept for 6 weeks after the notice. After that, without proof or a formal objection, Vinted may dispose of it, recycle it or destroy it, without compensation.

ID checks and strong authentication
To open a wallet, Vinted Pay checks your identity. Its terms also say it can ask you for more information or documents after the wallet is opened. Selectra lists a passport, an ID card, a bank statement or a proof of address.
If that information can't be obtained or verified, Vinted Pay can suspend or limit access to the wallet, and so the transfers to your bank.
Vinted Pay can also ask you for strong customer authentication, an extra security check, for example to access your wallet. Without it, the operation can be refused, blocked or delayed.

Your bank account: in euros and in your name
Vinted Pay only sends your money to a bank account held in your name, in euros, at a bank in the European Union or the European Economic Area. Vinted's help page adds a simple check: the name on your Vinted wallet must match the name on your bank account.
As for timing, Vinted Pay's terms say a euro transfer to a bank outside Lithuania is processed before the end of the next business day. It is complete once your bank has received the money.

In the UK, the US and Australia
The new terms have applied there since October 8, 2026. They include the Vinted fee, the new name for Buyer Protection, and the 48 hours to prove authenticity. However, the terms for these three countries don't move the wallet to Vinted Pay.
