How much to negotiate on Vinted? The real numbers from 200,000 sales

In short: on Vinted, 3 out of 4 sales happen after an offer. Buyers often ask for almost 30% off, but the sale usually closes around 13% below the listed price. And when you follow up with people who favorited your item, an offer only really makes a difference from 10% off. We looked at 198,697 sales and 118,698 negotiations from Bleam sellers, between August 21 and October 20, 2026.

3 out of 4 sales happen after an offer

Three times out of four, the item sells below its listed price: the buyer made an offer, the seller countered, or the seller sent an offer themselves. The discount is usually around 18%. Example: a jumper listed at €20 most often sells for about €16.40.

Low prices get negotiated less: under €10, almost one sale in two goes at full price. Above €60, more than 8 sales in 10 go through an offer, but the discount is smaller in percentage.

What buyers ask for, and where it ends up

When a buyer proposes a price, they usually ask for 28% off. Good news: that's a serious buyer. These conversations end in a sale 45 times out of 100, against 30 times out of 100 when the buyer doesn't mention a price.

The more the buyer asks, the less often it ends in a sale: 6 times out of 10 when they ask for less than 15%, 1 time in 3 between 35 and 40%. But a big ask isn't a dead end. With a counter-offer, the sale usually closes between 11 and 15% below the listed price. Example: on a €50 jacket, the buyer offers €32; after a counter-offer, it often sells for about €44.50.

And it's not about the category: shoes, dresses or jeans, buyers always ask for between 24 and 30% off.

Bundles: few sales, but one item sold in four

Bundles are only 8% of sales, but they move 23% of items sold. A bundle most often holds 2 items and sells about 17% below the sum of prices, roughly like a negotiated single item. For you, that's several items gone in one parcel.

Following up favorites: the offer counts from 10%

When you follow up with someone who favorited your item, a small offer (under 10%) is useless: it sells as much as a plain message, about 17 sales per 1,000 messages. From 10% off, sales go up by half: 26 per 1,000.

Timing matters too: a message sent between 1 and 7 a.m. sells a third less than the rest of the day. The day of the week makes little difference.

Key takeaways

  1. List at a price that leaves room. Three sales out of four are negotiated, by about 18%. Decide before the first offer the price you won't go below.
  2. Answer price proposals first. A buyer who names a price buys almost one time in two: don't keep them waiting.
  3. Counter-offer instead of refusing. Even when the buyer asks for 35 to 40% off, one conversation in three ends in a sale, around 11% below the listed price. A big ask is a starting point.
  4. For favorites, offer at least 10%. Below that, the offer scores the same as a plain message. Above 10%, pick the level your margin can carry, and send during the day.
  5. Keep bundles alive. They move almost a quarter of the items sold: a bundle discount gives a reason to add a second item.
