Vinted fees 2026: who pays what, and how much you really make on a sale

On Vinted, sellers pay no commission: the buyer pays the Vinted fee, usually 5% of the item price plus €0.70, and the shipping. So you receive the price the item actually sells for, often a little below the listed price, because buyers negotiate. If you resell as a pro in France, also take off what you paid for the item and 12.3% in social contributions as a micro-entrepreneur. Example: a dress listed at €30, sold for €26 and bought for €8 leaves you about €14.80.

Who pays what on Vinted?

Selling on Vinted is free. There are fees, but the buyer pays them, on top of the item price. On the seller side, only the visibility services cost money, and only if you choose them.

How much does the Vinted fee cost?

Vinted's price list, updated on October 5, 2026, gives the rule: the Vinted fee usually includes a percentage of the item or bundle price and a fixed part, usually 5% + €0.70. The calculation varies with the item's characteristics, the order value and the order type, single item or bundle. VAT is included in the amount.

On a €20 item, that usually comes to €1.70: 5% of €20, which is €1, plus €0.70. The buyer sees this amount in the price breakdown of the listing, then in the order summary, and pays it along with the price and the shipping. The fee is added on top of the item price: it isn't taken from what the seller receives.

It covers secure payment, order tracking tools, member support, and refunding the buyer when an item bought from a private seller is lost, damaged or doesn't match its description. It's the former Buyer Protection fee: Vinted renamed it with the October 5, 2026 changes, with no new fee and no change to how it's calculated.

The wallet, authenticity checks and ID checks changed that day too: Vinted Pay and the October 5, 2026 changes

With a Vinted Pro account, what changes?

No commission either. According to Vinted, Vinted Pro is completely free, and you can list as many second-hand items as you want, at no cost. Like a private seller, you can buy a Bump or a Wardrobe Spotlight to put your items forward.

What has changed is what lands in your wallet. When an item sells, only its price is added: VAT on shipping no longer is, because the shipping invoice is now in the name of the buyer, who pays for shipping. If you used to record that VAT in your accounts or tax returns, Vinted warns that you may need to change how you report your Vinted Pro sales. Invoices for Vinted's own services are still issued to you as before.

The real difference from a private seller comes from the French administration. As a micro-entrepreneur buying and reselling goods, you pay 12.3% of your revenue in social contributions, or 13.3% with the flat-rate income tax option (versement libératoire), according to service-public.

What you really keep: a dress listed at €30

Let's take a dress listed at €30 on Vinted and follow the money all the way to your pocket.

  1. The sale price. Buyers negotiate: according to Bleam's study of 198,697 sales, the sale usually closes around 13% below the listed price. So your dress is more likely to sell for about €26.
  2. The Vinted fee. The buyer pays €26, plus usually €2 of Vinted fee (5% of €26, which is €1.30, plus €0.70), plus shipping. You receive €26 in your wallet.
  3. What you paid for it. If the dress came out of your wardrobe, those €26 are yours. If you had bought it for €8 to resell it, you have €18 left.
  4. Contributions. As a French micro-entrepreneur, 12.3% of €26, which is €3.20. You're left with €14.80.

On a dress listed at €30, a reseller keeps about €14.80, and a private seller clearing out their wardrobe about €26. If you paid for a Bump or a Wardrobe Spotlight, take that off too.

Do you buy your items on Vinted to resell them? Count the Vinted fee and the shipping you paid as a buyer in their cost. A dress bought for €8 actually cost you €9.10 with its Vinted fee (5% of €8, plus €0.70), before shipping.

  • Bleam shows the profit on each sale, and the month's net profit after your bumps and Wardrobe Spotlight, read from the invoices Vinted sends you;
  • the URSSAF summary calculates the revenue received to declare, by month or by quarter, minus credit notes.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Vinted take from a sale?

Nothing from the seller: there are no selling fees on Vinted, and Vinted Pro is free. The buyer pays the Vinted fee, usually 5% of the item price plus €0.70, VAT included, on top of shipping. On a €20 item, that usually comes to €1.70.

Is the Vinted fee the same as Buyer Protection?

Yes, under a new name, since the October 5, 2026 changes. According to Vinted's help page, it isn't a new fee, it's calculated the same way, and the buyer still pays it.

Does a Vinted Pro seller receive the VAT on shipping?

Not anymore. According to Vinted's help page, only the item price is added to a Pro seller's wallet: the shipping invoice is in the buyer's name, and VAT on shipping is no longer added to the wallet.

How much do you really make on a Vinted sale?

The price the item sells for, often below the listed price: usually around 13% below, according to Bleam's study of 198,697 sales. A reseller then takes off what they paid for the item and, as a French micro-entrepreneur, 12.3% in social contributions. A dress listed at €30, sold for €26 and bought for €8 leaves about €14.80. Bleam does this maths for every sale.
