Enter your purchase costs and see your profit

A sale without a cost carries the "cost?" tag in the sales table. To fill it in, Bleam lets you choose between three methods.

- Manual entry: you type the amount directly on the sale. It is simple and immediate, and this method has a privilege: a cost typed by hand always wins over any automatic calculation.
- Linking to a purchase: if the sold item comes from a purchase recorded in Bleam, you link the sale to that purchase, and the cost comes from the purchase. Nothing to dig up, nothing to retype.
- The SKU: the automatic method. A small code set on the purchase, copied at the end of the listing, and when the item sells everything links by itself.

Which one is for you? If you are starting out or sell little, manual entry is plenty. As soon as you sell regularly, Bleam recommends the SKU: set once on the purchase, it then works for all your sales. And the three methods combine without conflict, since your manual entry always has the last word.

In the sales table, click a sale's "cost?" tag: its detail opens on the right, with the "Purchase price" field ready to type in. Enter what the item cost you in total (8, 12.50…), no need to break down fees or shipping, then confirm with Enter: the profit shows up right away. Léa sold for €15 the jean she paid €8: she types 8, and the sale shows €7 of profit.

An entered cost stays editable with one click, and the × "Remove the cost" button next to the field clears it. And remember: this entry has priority, no link and no SKU will ever overwrite it.

When many sales have no cost, a "How much do you really make?" card shows above the table, with a "X% filled in" gauge. Click "Add purchase prices": the "Quick cost entry" window walks through your sales one by one. On the left, a large photo (click it to zoom). On the right, the amount collected ("Sold for €X"), the "Purchase price (all included)" field and the same purchase picker as for linking.

The keyboard is enough: Enter saves and moves to the next one, an empty field followed by Enter skips it, and "Previous" goes back to fix. The "X of N" counter advances and the "Profit added:" total climbs as you go. Detailed bundles can also be entered in the window, one field per item (Enter moves to the next field, then saves the bundle); only bundles whose items are not detailed remain to handle from the sales list.

Second method. If the item comes from a purchase already in Bleam (synced Vinted purchase or purchase added by hand), no need to dig up the price: click the sale's 🔗 button, and the link window opens. There you find a photo grid of your purchases: first "Most likely" (suggestions, each with a badge explaining why), then "All your purchases". Bleam suggests, but never decides for you: you confirm, with one click on the right tile. The cost then fills in by itself: price paid ÷ number of items, shipping included. Léa clicks her jean's tile: the €8 land on the sale, without typing anything.

If needed, the "Search a purchase (item, seller, brand, SKU)…" field filters the grid, and "+ Add a manual purchase" at the bottom creates the purchase and links it right away. In plain words: you show Bleam "this sold item is the one I had bought", and it takes care of the rest.

Yes, and it is the most comfortable form of linking: the purchase is linked before the item sells, so there is nothing left to do afterwards. On the Purchases page, the "List for sale" button opens the publishing composer with the purchase already linked. Publish the listing: when it sells, the cost will already be in place. To prepare several listings at once, tick several purchases and click "List for sale (N)"; the bulk flow is detailed in Track your purchases.

Same logic if you publish from the Bleam dashboard: at the bottom of the form, the "Link to a purchase (optional)" field associates the listing with a purchase. Once the listing sells, the cost is accounted for without you typing anything.

The Bleam extension has you covered too. When you create a listing directly on Vinted, it adds a "Link to a purchase" section to the form. Select the original purchase and publish as usual: Bleam remembers where the item comes from, and the profit will compute itself at sale time.

Because once in place, this method asks nothing more of you. The SKU is a small code set on the purchase, for example #A12, that you copy as the very last word of your listings: when the item sells, Bleam reads the code, finds the purchase and fills in the cost by itself. One code can serve a whole lot: Léa's 100 jumpers share a single tag, and each sale automatically receives its €4.50 of cost. A bundle sale carries a "Bundle ×N" badge. Click the row to open its detail: in the "Cost and linking" section, each item has its own cost field, and the sale's total cost is the sum. A buyer takes two of Léa's jumpers at once? She enters €4.50 on each, and the sale shows €9 of cost. Next to each item, "≈ €X" shows its estimated share of the collected amount (split pro rata of listing prices), for information only. Above the photo gallery, tabs let you switch between the bundle's items.
