Assistant Memory: teach it what it doesn't know

7 steps

Your assistant knows your listings. It doesn't know your way of selling: how long you're willing to hold an item, whether you take extra photos, where you source your pieces. It won't make those up: it hands them back to you. That's exactly what Memory is for: you give it the fact once, it uses it in every conversation afterwards. It's available on the Enterprise plan, like the rest of the assistant.

1

What Memory changes

Without Memory, the assistant replies from two things: your Auto replies settings (shipping days, condition, authenticity…) and the listing itself. Anything else, it won't make up: it stays silent or pings you.

Memory fills those gaps. The three questions that most often stop the assistant across Bleam sellers, and the fact that unblocks each:

- "Can you hold it for five days?" → Reservation: "I hold an item for 48 hours max. After that, it goes back on sale." (Plenty of sellers do the opposite: "I don't hold items, I get too many requests". Just as useful for the assistant to know.)
- "Could you send me more photos?" → Photos: "I don't take extra photos, my items are already packed away."
- "Where does it come from?", "Where did you source it?" → Sourcing: "I hunt for vintage and antique pieces, and I always point out the flaws when there are any."

The other topics Bleam sellers write down most often: returns and exchanges ("no exchange, no return, unless I got it wrong"), local pickup and being away on holiday.

The assistant doesn't recite your facts word for word: it uses them when they're relevant, in its usual tone and language.

2

Open an account's Memory

Go to your Bleam dashboard → click your Vinted account → Memory tab (the last one, right above Statistics).

Memory is specific to each Vinted account. That's on purpose: you probably don't sell the same way on your main account and on your kidswear one. If a fact applies everywhere, one button copies it to your other accounts.

3

Add a fact

Click Add a fact. Two fields:

- Context: the topic, in a few words (e.g. Photos). It helps you find it again and helps the assistant know when to use it.
- Fact: what the assistant should know, written the way you'd say it (e.g. I don't take extra photos, my items are already packed away.). Up to 800 characters.

It's saved right away. The assistant uses it from the very next conversation, with nothing to re-enable on Vinted.

4

Let the assistant ask you the questions

You don't have to anticipate everything. When the assistant doesn't know what to reply, or when you mark one of its replies as bad (👎), the question lands in Pending questions.

The Questions button at the top of the tab shows how many there are, and a banner appears as soon as there's one. Click Answer: questions come one by one, sorted by frequency (the ones that keep coming back first). For each, you see the item, the conversation thread and a link to Vinted.

Two choices: Save to memory (your answer becomes a fact, reused next time) or Dismiss. Nothing is sent to the buyer from this screen: you're teaching the assistant, the Vinted conversation stays put.

A question dismissed by mistake isn't lost: the Dismissed toggle at the top of the panel lets you restore it.

5

Restrict a fact to certain items

A fact applies to all your items by default. If it only concerns part of your stock, add activation conditions from the Context block:

- Category (e.g. Football shirts, Tracksuits)
- Brand (e.g. Nike)
- Size
- Condition (new with tags, very good…)
- Price (a range)

Values within one criterion stack as "or", criteria stack as "and". A fact conditioned on *(Football shirts or Tracksuits)* and *(Nike)* only comes out on a Nike shirt or tracksuit. Handy when your shirts don't come from the same place as the rest of your wardrobe. That's how you keep contradictory facts without contradicting yourself: "thrifted, washed before shipping" on vintage, "new in packaging" on the rest.

6

Keep your Memory tidy

Each fact collapses into a single line. You can:

- Turn a fact off temporarily instead of deleting it (toggle on the right), handy while you're away.
- Search through your facts as soon as you have a few.
- Select several lines (*Select* button) to enable, disable or delete them at once.
- Copy to your other accounts the facts that apply everywhere.

Each line shows where it came from (added manually, from an escalation or from a 👎) and how many times the assistant used it. That's the fastest way to spot what actually earns its place. Limit: 100 facts per account.

7

How to write a good fact

What works:

- One fact per entry. Five short facts beat one wall of text mixing shipping, returns and bundles.
- Write like you talk, in the first person. The assistant rephrases it in its own tone.
- Be specific: "I hold an item for 48 hours max" rather than "I can hold it a bit".
- Update instead of piling up. Two facts that contradict each other ("I hold for 48 hours" / "I hold as long as you need") make replies unstable: fix the old one.

What's pointless: repeating what's already in the listing (an item's measurements, condition, price) or what you've already set in the Auto replies tab (shipping days, authenticity, where the measurements are). The assistant has that already. And keep in mind what a fact does not do: it doesn't produce a photo. On a request for an extra photo (the most common one buyers make), Memory lets the assistant reply with your policy ("I don't take extra photos") instead of pinging you, but the photo itself is still on you, or on Bleam Nexus for worn photos.
